Overall, a cursory glance at the mentioned chart is sufficient enough to make it vivid that the percentages of literate female in Central Asia and Central/Eastern Europe surpassed the corresponding male rates. While Central Asia for both gender had the highest rate of literacy, people who lived in sub-Saharan Africa had the lowest ability to read and write.
It could be seen that the central Asia zone had the highest proportion of literate male and female by approximately 99% and 100% respectively. The region in second place which female’s ability to read and write surpassed by only 1%, at 97%, was Central/Eastern Europe.
The greatest difference, which was about 20%, between the 64-percent-literate female and male belonged to South and West Asia. The following regions by an over margin of 10% between both genders’ ability to read and write were Sub-Saharan Africa and Arab states simultaneously.
