Essay topics:

The chart below gives some information about the growth of the urban population in certain parts of the world (including the prediction of the future). Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

The depicted bar graph illustrates the proportion of urbanization growth in Africa, Asia, Latin America/Caribbean and the whole world for three specific periods (1950, 2000 and 2030).
As an overall trend, worldwide population density experiences a significant surge over a 35-year period. While Latin America witnesses the highest urbanization percentage, Asia sees a dramatic rise with regards to its primary urban population.
In 1950, 30 % of people all over the world tended to live in towns and cities, while this figure for less developed countries in Africa was lower (just over 10 percent of people chose urbanism). However from 1950 onwards, Africa witnessed a sharp increase in urban population density so that the percentage of urban population of Africa has been envisaged to be approximately 52 % by 2030; this figure for the whole word urban population is expected to be exactly 60 %.
Urban population of Latin America in 1950 was roughly 3 folds greater than Asia’s, 41% and 14% respectively. It has been predicted that the proportion of people who live in towns and cities in Latin America will lead by a margin of 24% with respect to the urban Asian people, 80 % and 56 % respectively, in 2030.
