Dear Darren,
Having to know that you are going to study at the same university as me a few years ago makes me feel so excited about your upcoming journey. This gives me the motivation to have some words of advice regarding your accommodation ahead. When I started uni, I chose to live in a homestay with an Australian family as that was also my first time in a whole new environment. Living in a homestay allowed me to get to know more about the cuisine, traditions, and lifestyle. This knowledge helped me later on after I moved out to live in student accommodation.
Student accommodation is one of the decent options for university students in general because they provide a wide range of exemplary facilities and quick access to school. I suggest you have a look at some government education supporting websites, which will recommend a few legit and reliable accommodations targeting students.
Although hiring a student accommodation usually costs more than a shared room from many online room finding pages, it is a place that is trustworthy. The reason for that is regular share room requires knowledge about leasing terms and conditions as well as the ability to cope with further issues later on. Secondly, students will generally make their decision based on the total rental fee of the accommodation, which is sometimes not reasonable. They will also need to take into account the distance between casual places such as school and supermarkets and the travel mode like public transport and its fees.
Those are a few things that I would like to share with you as an old friend. I look forward to hearing from you.
Henry
