To improve the quality of education, universities should spend more money on salaries for university professors.
Universities play an important and vital role in the education system. Most of the universities try and compete to increase their rank among others. There are lots of ways to improve the
quality of education. The most important question regarding this is that if the education quality will be more effective by increasing the salaries of professors or not. From my point of view,
I assert that the university should increase the professor's salary and in what follows I will attempt to address the most discernible reasons.
First, professors will be more enthusiastic to do their job if the amount of money increases. Albeit, the money is not the most important part of education but It can solve most of the professor's problem; The differences between professors in different university in my country is a good example of this. Accordingly, in my country 'IRAN', professors who serves their job in governmental university such as "Sharif university " make more budget while those of in private university have less income. According to a new research, the professors of governmental universities assign more time to their students and this helped the education to be more effective in that area. That research taught me that money can increase the level of quality in universities.
In addition, professors work fewer hours during the week. According to this, common working hours each week are 40 hours which can be a negative point, but if they make more money the office hours will be reduced to less than 30 hours which will result in higher quality in education. For example, during the time that I was in a master's, a new role raised the professor's salary and attenuate their weekly work hours; Afterward, the professors spend more time on students by solving more problems. Based on the university, that change increases the grade of the student which has a direct correlation to the quality of education.
Finally, professors will have more time to work on articles. This is an important point in the level of education in the country. For instance, the country that publishes more articles in authentic journals will have a higher rank in-universe. Nonetheless, there are some conferences and less important journals that may not count as efficient as authentic ones are. Also, in each year, five topmost countries would take the prize with the help of a creative method and this is the best epitome of education quality which defines as the production of science.
All in all, as the aforementioned examples have illustrated, professors should have more salary that helps education to have more quality. Not only the professor will have more enthusiasm but also it decreases work hours and helps professors to participate in a publication. Therefore, I think that the university should increase the income of professors for better quality in education.
