4days workweek
While the passage states that a four day work week with less payment to the employees would work in favor for the company, country and individual employee; the lecture expresses a different point of view.
Firstly, the passage claims that this policy would produce more rested and alert employees who would make less errors. Moreover, it would not cost more money for the company to hire more staff as the employees would take less payment and eventually the company would make more profit as it would have fewer overworked and error-prone employees. However, the lecture states that the policy would make the company spend a lot more as new staffs need to be supported with training and medical facilities. Healthcare for the employees who are working fewer days are same as before. Additionaly, the company would need more office space and computers which would ultimately decrease its profit.
Secondly, the passage claims that the policy would benefit the country by reducing unemployment rate. On contrary, the lecture states that it would not happen that way as it may go for options like over timing or raising expectations from the employees which would make their current job unpleasant.
Finally, the passage argues that individual employees would more personal freedom as a result of reduced work days. The lecture contracts to this by asserting that it would rather reduce their quality of life as their career stability would decrease by lowering the chances of promotion or even losing jobs.
