chaco structure

Essay topics:

chaco structure

The reading discusses the three main theories about Chaco structures. These theories discuss how Chaco structures were made. However, the lecturer challenges the claims made by the author.

First of all, the author states that houses in Chaco were residential. There were leaving hundreds of people. Houses there were known like “apartment-buildings” in which people have been leaving for many years. On the other hand, the lecturer claims that this theory is not as much convictive as it seems. The houses externally could made the viewer think that there were leaving many people but in fact, inside thouse houses were leaving only a few people. It can be proved by the number of fire places in the houses. There were a few of fire places without which people cannot make any food.

Secondly, the author asserts that Chaco people used Chaco structure to store green maze. In contrast, the lecturer’s position is that there haven’t been found any remain of maze or big containers. If there were stored green maze there would be something that would tell the archelogists about that.

Finally, the author of the reading claims that houses were also used as a ceremonial centers. And one of those centers was Pueblo Alto. During ceremonies Chaco people ate festive meals afther which discarded the pods where the meals had been made or served. Conversely, the lecturer rebuts by saying that archeologists have found in Pueblo Alto constructive materials, send, stone, etc. shese stull no one could expect from ceremonies.

To wrap up, both the reading and the listening are about houses in Chaco, the lecturer apposs to the author by bringing explanations.
