In this set of material, both of the reading and the speaker discuss about the new approach of advertising that is called buzzing. In this method the advertisers employ some buzzers who promote products people they get familiar with them. The main goal this method is that people do not know buzzers do it intentionally in a mundane conversation. The reading provides three reasons that this way is not appropriate, however the speaker finds all reasons ridiculous. The information the lecture provides contradicts the fact outlined in the reading passage.
First of all, the reading claims that people do not like to hear incorrect information especially from people they believe them, in contrast the buzzer in lecture contends that the company of cell phone which he works for it, usually recruits person who has used with that product and he is satisfied. As a result they will not present inadequate information to costumers.
Moreover, the author of reading argues that since the buzzers pretend they are private individuals, people prefer to rely on them more than TV and radio and so on, consequently this procedure can strike to people, on the contrary the lecture refutes this statement. The buzzer expresses that people often ask a lot of questions about products and if they do not be convinced, they will not buy it.
The final point, presented in the reading is that buzzing approach can destroy social relationship among people. Since these buzzers act as hidden agendas, trust feeling will fed up from society, conversely the speaker is challenged this argument. He believes if the product is not in a good quality, the company does not employ buzzers, subsequently when people experience an ideal circumstance with company’s products, honest feeling will broaden in the society.
