The charts below show the percentage of water used for different purposes in six areas of the world.
The charts represent the water usage in a percentage for three different purposes; industrial, agricultural and domestic in six countries.
Overall, Europe and North America used their water for mostly industrial purposes whereas the rest of countries spent majority of their water for agriculture. There was more domestic water usage for South America compared to North America and more industrial usage in South East Asia among other Asian countries. It is apparent that, domestic was the least popular water usage for all countries.
In terms of industrial usage, Europe had the most consumption as they spent 53% of water for this purpose whereas North America used 48% of their water for the same purpose. In comparison, Central Asia and Africa spent the least industrial water as which recorded at 5% and 7% respectively. Along with this, domestic water was the least used among all countries.
Meanwhile, all countries used the majority of their water for agricultural purposes except for Europe and North America. The highest water usage recorded was Central Asia of 88%, followed by Africa of 84% and South East Asia of 81%. South America had 71% of water usage for agriculture.
