The bar chart compares how many travelers used three key airports in New York City over a period of 6 years.
It is clear that there were growing numbers of visitors of Newark and LaGuardia airports over the period shown. By contrast, the number of people using John F. Kennedy varied significantly.
In 1995, the number of people using LaGuardia was highest, with 35 million passengers. The figure for John F. Kennedy was 26 million, compared to only 15 million visitors who used Newark airport. 1997 saw significant rises in the number of passengers using John F. Kennedy, LaGuardia and Newark, with 46 million, 42 million and 38 million respectively.
From 1998 to 2000, there was no change for the number of people using Newark while that of LaGuardia continued to rise considerably and reached a peak at 68 million. However, the figure for John F. Kennedy dropped dramatically to 32 million in 1999 before experiencing a remarkable increase to 44 million in 2000.
