The charts compares the proportion of water used for agriculture, industry and homes in different parts of the world in the year 2000.
It is clear that agriculture accounted for the largest proportion of water used around the world, in China and India. We can also see that Canada experienced by far the highest water usage in industry sector.
The first pie chart indicates that almost three-quarters of world consumption (70%) was for agriculture, while 22% was used for industry and a mere 8% for domestic sector.
