The graphs show how the major sources of energy in USA changed from 1980 to 1990.
Overall, it is evident that the percentage of sources used changed unsignificantly, and oil was still the main source of energy.
The uses of oil and natural gas for energy saw a decline. In 1980, among five sources of energy, oil was the source accounting for the largest figure, at 42%. Although this figure fell to 33% in 1990, it still enjoyed the first place. In term of natural gas, there saw a slight reduction, form 26% in 1980 to 25% in 1990.
Whereas, the proportion of coal and nuclear power which were used to generate energy increased. In 1980, 22% of energy produced from coal, then this figure rose up to 27% and became the second main source of energy. The amount of energy generated from nuclear power was double, from 5% to 10% after 10 years. Despite the changes of other sources, the use of hydroelectric power remained stable at 5% during the observed years.
