The table below shows the average band scores for students from different language groups taking the IELTS Academic paper in 2003
The table presents the information of the average band scores of IELTS module from assorted countries in the years of 2003.
Overall, it is noticeable that the majority of students achieved the highest average scores in speaking skill. However, Hindi was the nation standing the first position in overall band scores amongst 4 selected countries in 2003.
Regarding the table in more details, we can see that, Hindi was the leading nation in band score in listening, writing and speaking skill, with the figure for 6.78, 6.38 and 6.86 consecutively. By contrast, the fist ranking in average band scores in IELTS reading skill belonged to Spain, at approximately 6.5. Interestingly, Malayalam and Russian candidates acquired the same scores in reading module, at nearly 6.2
Nevertheless, Spain ranked the lowest position in listening skill result, at about 6.3, while the lowest speaking band score was found in Malayalam, at roughly 6.5. On the other hand, students in Russia achieved the lowest overall result amongst 4 nations given, at nearly 6.38.
