The two plans illustrate how a small coastal village developed as a tourist resort in Europe within 30 years. It is clear that the population rose dramatically in 2004 and numerous new constructions were built
Looking at the maps in more detail, the north area of maps shows that there are two village, forest, livestock of sheep and goats, and olive farms in 1974. In contrast, the woodland was cut down to make way for a golf course in 2004. Similarly, olive groves inland were replaced with a big farmland where fruit and vegetable were planted and those are used for hotels.
The south of the village experienced a striking change in which harbor was knocked down and switched to beach areas. Moreover, the fishing village remained at its original location, however many hotels were built near the beach. A new road was constructed to connect from the south-east place on the maps to the village in the top right-hand corner of the maps.
