Write a letter to the planning manager to inform him that you are unhappy with the council's decision to pull down the historic building in your area due to lack of fund
- why it is important
- how it is useful in future
- suggest how to pay for repairs.
Dear sir or Madam,
I am writing to you to express my unhappiness towards the decision that has been reached in the recent meeting of the council. Allow me to elaborate.
It is a matter of great shame for all the residents that the council has unanimously decided to take down the building which stands as a symbol of our locality all around the world. I along with the other residents take pride to tell everyone that we live in the neighbourhood where the St. Patrick Cathedral is located in Delaware. Moreso, it saddens me more that the decision has been reached without giving the residents a chance to give their views. It is one of the most important places of worship for our Catholic friends and we have decided to stand with them in the time of need.
Needless to mention, that the Pope from the Vatican has in various speeches expressed his opinion to make the cathedral an important part of Catholic society. Further, it was last week when the recent schedule was announced for the Pope who is visiting the United States of America to address the Catholic community. Please, do not take any decision lightly as the decision has been taken abruptly and can have devastating effects on the feelings of a religion.
Everyone is aware that the Cathedral has been in a dilapidated condition in the recent past and the decision was solely based on the sole criterion. However, the residents have always gone for Sunday service in the cathedral and will continue to do so. A cathedral is an important place for everyone in the locality. Hence, it has been decided that we will be organizing a fundraiser to arrange for the money to pay for the expenses pertaining to the repair and upkeep of the cathedral.
I hope that you will reconsider the decision on the basis of the facts mentioned above and act accordingly for which we all shall forever be grateful.
Yours sincerely,
Brad Jason
