You live in a room in college which you share with another student.
However, there are many problems with this arrangement and you find it
very difficult to work.
Write a letter to the accommodation officer at the college. In the letter,
• describe the situation
• explain your problems and why it is difficult to work
• say what kind of accommodation you would prefer
Dear Sir,
I hope this email finds you well. I am writing with regard to my issue concerning my roommate.
I am a senior student taking Academic English. I am currently occupying a twin room and the person that I share this accommodation with happens to be a part of the university's choir. She has been practicing for their group's presentation for the upcoming school event and usually finishes late. As a result, I have not had enough sleep for weeks, thus losing focus in completing my papers which is due in 2 weeks.
If you would permit, I would like to request to be transferred to a single room as soon as there is an available space. Being in my last semester, unnecessary distractions like this, would not help me in finishing all the requirements needed for graduation.
Hoping for your kind consideration. Looking forward to hear from you soon.
Yours faithfully,
Joyce Jabonero
