Your local council is considering closing a sport and leisure centre that it runs, in order to save money.
Write a letter to the local council, in your letter,
- Give details of how you and your friends or family use the centre.
- Explain the why the centre is important for the local community.
- Describe the possible effects on local people if the centre closed.
Dear sir,
I am Harry singh, a senior member of villa society. Today morning, I received a message from my friend that mentions your plan to close the sports and leisure centre of our area. I am writing this letter to request you to reconsider your plan, as this centre has become a necessity of a society.
I am pleased to mention that this sports and leisure centre is a pride of our society as it benefits our three generations simultaneously. On one hand, children enjoy playing board games , while adults love swimming and other sports activities, at the same time elderly people love to spend hours there, reading newspaper and chatting with each other.
This is the only sports and activity center in our area. Moreover, people from nearby societies also visit this center often. In extreme weathers such as hot summers or too much cold, it is the best place to keep children engaged and do their interested activities. Hence, this centre is a valuable asset of this society.
If this centre closes, it would affect the society members in many ways like it would be really tought to keep children busy during their holidays as there would be no activity to do. Similarly, elderly people would definitely miss their favorite meeting place while the adults will miss their stress relieving and relaxing area as well. So, on the behalf of all the society members, I request you to reconsider your plan to close this centre.
Looking forward for a positive revert from you regarding this matter.
Yours sincerely
Harry Singh
