You have seen an advertisement in an English newspaper for a job working in the City Museum shop during the holidays. You decide to apply for the job.
Write a letter to the director of the Museum. In your letter,
introduce yourself
explain what experience and special skills you have
explain why you are interested in the job
Dear sir or madam,
I would like to apply for the job opening in the City museum shop that has featured in the Hindu newspaper today.
I, aparajita, am a first year student, pursuing history in major, from Aditya Birla college and my residence is in close proximity to the shop.
Not only I have keen interest in all ancient stuffs but also I had grown up with my grandfather who used to be a curator of the famous Ashoka museum of Panipath. I had spent my childhood taking care of antique items and had learned how to preserve them, from him.
this advertisement had grasped my attention as working here will give me a feeling of fulfilling my grandfather’s desire and will provide me an opportunity to feel his presence in my work. So, I am interested in this job and if you permit, I may begin as a part-time employee first. As the university vacations stars from next month but I will be able to join the shop from coming week after college time. Could it be possible for you to let me know the working time of the shop?
With the reasons cited above, I feel, I will fit best for this requirement. I hope you will take my application into consideration, awaiting your affirmative response.
Yours faithfully,
aparajita
