The given bar charts illustrates the disparity in the amount of oil being discovered globally during the period of 70 years, between 1950 and 2015, and the predicted figures in 2020.
Generally, the worldwide oil exploited amount shows a downward trends.
Specifically, the oil exploitation was recorded at 20 billion barrels in 1950 prior to a dramatic increase in the next 10 years, and reaching a peak at around 55 billion barrels in 1965. However, since that time, the amount fluctuated. In particular, about 37 billion barrels of oil was discovered in 1970, that amount rose slightly to just under 40 billion barrels in 1975, but again, the amount experienced a drop to approximately 17 billion barrels in the period of 10 years. It increased back to nearly 20 billion barrels in the succeeding five years, and decreasing by 15 billion barrels in 2015.
It is predicted that from 2015 to 2020, the amount of oil being exploited will fall down slightly by 1 or 2 billion barrels.
