Leisure Activities of Europian Adults
The graph presented reveals a slight difference of what European adults do during their leisure time
in 1985 and 1995. it is evident that the existence of computer and games significantly influence
people spending relaxation time in 1995.
In 80’s, watching TV was the most time-consuming leisure activities people spend with 32 per cent of
total free time a day, followed by hanging out for eat with 23 per cent. Subsequently, talking with
friends and with family were the common activities with percentage of 21% and 18%, respectively.
Meanwhile, others activities were spend 6 per cent.
On the contrary, adults live in 1995 were still spending their 30 per cent of their free time, a quite
drop from 1985, watching TV. However, computer games tempted adults to more spend their time on
it with 27 cent. in the meantime, a gradual rise of percentage has happened to talking-with-friend
activities from 21 per cent to 26 cent, besides adults spend less time talking to families with markedly
decrease of percentage to only 7 per cent, as well as for eating out.
A fascinating fact that more than a half of leisure time activities adults mainly spend is interacting
with screen (TV and Computer) rather than with people in the real life.
