Birth Rate
The graph provided reveals some similarities between Chinese and the US birth rate during the period
from 1920 to 2000.
It is evident that both countries were climbed rapidly and the highest rates of birth between 1950’s to
1955’s.
In particular, China’s birth rates increased from approximately 10 percent in 1920 to 15 percent in 1935.
Then it start decreased dramatically to 5 percent in 1940’s. The fertility in this country reaching a peak
of 20 percent in 1950s. From 1955 to 2000, the line start to declined until 2000s.
However, birth rates in US is fluctuated from 1920 to 1940 and it dropped sharply 5 percent during
1940s to 1945s. In 1950, it began to rise roughly 15 percent. Then it was dropped again until 2000.
Finally, in the graph China’s fertility is highest than US in 1930 and 1950 and the number of US birth
rates was above Chinese.
