The three pie charts below show the changes in annual spending by a particular UK school in 1981, 1991 and 2001.
The pie charts compare the shifts in annual expenditure by a certain UK school in different times, 1981, 1991 and 2001
Overall, it is obvious that although the proportion of UK school spending changed substantially in three years, teacher’s salaries still occupied the largest proportion and insurance just accounted for the smallest one.
Looking at the detail, in 1981, 40% of school’s budget was spent on teacher’ salaries, followed by 28% on payment for other workers. After a decade, the expenditure on teacher’s salaries rose considerably to reach a peak at 50% before decreasing gradually by 5% in 2001. In comparison, spending on other worker’s salaries witnessed a significant decline to only 15% at the end.
Initially, the percentage of money used for resources and furniture/equipment were equal, at 15%. After that the figure for resources rose slightly by 5% and then plummeting to 9% in 2001. But the opposite was true for Furniture/equipment, at 5% and 23% respectively. While the proportion of money paid for insurance climbed by 6% over the 30-year period.
