You have seen an advertisement in an English newspaper for a job working in the City Museum shop during holidays. You decide to apply for the job.
Write a letter to the director of the Museum. In your letter,
*Introduce yourself
*Explain what experience and special skills you have
*Explain why you are interested in the job
Dear Sir or Madam, I am writing in response to the advertisement in a newspaper regarding the job vacancy available in your museum. I would like to express my anxiety in working for the betterment of your shop.
I am a permanent resident in New York for the past two years and I do reside in an apartment called the Golden Maple which is near your museum. Currently, I am working as a cashier in a coffee shop near the Berkeley University.
Being a citizen of the United Kingdom, I worked in London museum for a short period of six months. As a result, I have gained a little experience in handling and preserving the portraits and the other objects of a museum. In addition, I myself is an artist and have sold portraits for a small fee.
Would you kindly offer me the job? if you accept my request, it would be a great help for me to improve my career as I am planning to pursue a doctorate in History in my future. I hope you will consider my request. In case I am given an appointment order for the job, I would strive to the core and work to your entire satisfaction. if you have any suspicion about the verity of my declaration, I will, on further request attach the work experience certificates i have obtained in my previous workplaces which perhaps vindicate my experience.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours faithfully,
Gayathri Mohandas.
