TPO 15 integrated essay
The article declares that cane toad multiplied rapidly, and their population affects the native animals, to destroy them several methods are used and provides three reasons for support. However, the professor explains that the cane toad is not easy to read off and refutes each of the author's reasons.
To begin with, the reading states that a national fence should build to prevent the spread of cane tode. On the other hand, the speaker contradicts this point by stating that this method is not so effective. He explains that they put their eggs near the river so water can carry these eggs to the other side of Australia. In this case, the fence doesn't control the tod population.
Moreover, passage claims that volunteers could help to capture and destroyed them as they are easy to capture by hand. Nonetheless, the lecturer says that volunteers are not trained, so it is hard for them to differentiate between cane toads and native frogs because they look the same. And they might kill native frogs.
Furthermore, the reading contends that the virus could control the cane toad populations. The professor cast doubt on this theory. He explains that virus could harm to America also because reptile and amphibian species are transported there for research. If those are infected by the virus than they might destroy the can toad population in America and the ecosystem of America.
