Older people usually think that life used to be better in the past. Do you think they are right or wrong to think like that?
Every era has its own positive and negative outcomes. Elderly people believe that life in their time was more advantageous. In my opinion, advancement of technology and a well-defined system of law makes this modern period a golden phase for humanity.
To begin with, modern technology has given numerous benefits to the people and it is more productive than the older period. The dramatic growth in automation assists to provide employment in various fields rather than people in the past were mainly dependable on agriculture for the livelihood. In other words, there are a number of opportunities to explore different corners of the globe which could not be possible in the past. Moreover, the lack of communication was also a factor to maintain the relationships between family and friends. Nowadays the communication gap is minimized with the help of the internet, where people from different nations could connect with each other through social applications.
Especially the significant change which has come from the old period to the modern period that is a stronger legal system. The well-organised system of law and treaties is administering peace and harmony between the countries. Consequently, the treaties force the nations to conduct peaceful trade and most importantly strict laws restrain catastrophic wars which have often happened in the past between the countries. For example, history has faced two big world wars which took a lot of lives of people whereas, in modern age these types of wars have not happened since after the establishment of the United Nations organization which is the governing body of these treaties.
Overall, it seems advisable that fruitful results of technology and the justice system of this period be able to give happiness to the people. While people in the previous period had faced ample problems regarding unemployment, communication gulf as well as colossal war fares.
