internal combustion engine and fuel cell engine
The author explains about advantages of fuel-cell engine in comparison with internal combustion engine and tell us that is a good fuel replacement because of three reasons. In contrast, the lecturer explains that fuel-cell engines have their own disadvantages and refutes every reason of the author.
first, hydrogen needed for fuel-cell is plentiful and renewable. However, the lecturer explains that hydrogen is not easily available. she tells us that the purifying process of hydrogen is very difficult and it must become too cold which needs elaborate systems.
Second, hydrogen-based fuel cell are more cleaner source of energy. However, the professor says that burning the hydrogen doesn't cause pollution, but producing process of that makes a lot of pollution. she explains that the purifying process of hydrogen needs a lot of energy and this energy usually comes from burning of oil or coal.
Third, fuel-cell engines are cheaper. In contrast, the speaker claims that fuel-cell engines are expensive. she tells us that for manufacturing engine, they need a rare metal called platinum which is very expensive. She also adds that effort for replacing this platinum with a cheaper one was unsuccessful.
