It can be seen from the table that the population of elderly people is predicted to increase in all countries during the research period. Additionally, the percentage of senior inhabitants in Germany was highest between 1988 and 2000 and is forecast to remain the highest by 2030.
During the period from 1988 to 2000, the aging population in Germany and Canada went up by 5% to 25% and 21% respectively. Meanwhile, in the UK, the proportion of its senior population increased by only 1%, ending the year 2000 with just 15%.
By 2030, it is predicted that the percentage of population aged 65 and over in all 3 nations will increase by 5%. Germany is forecast to be the country with most elderly people among 3 countries. The proportion of senior residents in Canada and the UK will be 26% and 20% respectively.
