A family member is coming to stay with you. He/she will be arriving by train in the morning, but you won’t be home until the evening. Write a letter to your relative. In your letter:
explain the arrangements you have made for them to get keys and enter the house
tell your relative how to get from the train station to your house
say when you will be home and suggest what you could do together that evening
Hello Rahul,
I am extremely excited to hear about your visit to my place and have been making many plans since the day i heard this news. It's been a long time since we last met. While i was making a plan to pick you up from the railway station tomorrow, some urgent work at the office came up. If i had an option, i would have cancelled it. But sadly, this is a kind of a situation, which can not be avoided or postponed.
You don't have to be worried though. All you need to do is to take a cab from the station, which i have already scheduled for you, and it will be waiting for you at the station at 3 PM sharp, which is about 15 minutes prior to your arrival time. Also, i left a duplicate key with my neighbour, which you can collect from him once you reach and take some rest after having lunch, which would be kept ready for you in the fridge. You just need to take it out, make it warm in the microwave and have it at your convenience.
I would be at home not later than 7 PM and have made great plans for the evening. We will be going to a musical show at the local club, where you would enjoy the performance of a notorious street band, i hope.
See you soon.
Best regards
Harpreet
