Some universities now offer their courses on the Internet so that people can study online.
Is this a positive or negative development?
Nowadays most of the educational institutes and universities upload their integral part of all the courses online, and also encourages students to learn online. Online learning has many pros. In my opinion, it is a positive development, which is shall highlight in the essay.
To commence with, uploading study material online makes it accessible from anywhere and at anytime around the globe. For instance, if a person is not able to attend some lecture due to any reason, he can cover it up later by accessing it online. Availability of courses online not only provides flexibility to tutors but also to the students. Online study also save the student's crucial time which he invest in commuting himself to the lecture hall. What is more, students can also manage their pace of study without any time bounds. Likewise, if a student wants to study for long hours, he can access to the course data, whereas, offline lecture do not provided that kind of privilege.
Moreover, it removes the punctuality errors, as the person can attend the lecture from starting if he was not on time. On the individual level, it becomes very advantageous as a student, as one does not needs to carry heavy books with himself, whereas a laptop or a phone can store or access the uncountable number of study material. This directly saves the paper and also an environmentally friendly method. As of my personal experience, when I was pursuing my bachelors, I always preferred for self-study over sitting in a lecture hall. This availability of online study material had not only offered me privilege for self-study but also for late overnight studies.
In conclusion, such developments are the advent of new learning system worldwide. Online learning has proved itself to be the best learning methods till now. As a student, who is constantly dealing with the hectic schedules of projects and assignments, one will always prefer online learning.
