Divorce rates in Finland and Sweden.
The bar chart compares the percentages of divorced couples in Finland and Sweden in 5 years period from 2011.
Overall, Sweden experienced more divorce cases than Finland over the period, but in the last year, the number of divorces in Finland overtook that in Sweden. Besides, the divorce rate of Sweden had a decreasing trend while the opposite was witnessed in Finland.
Looking at Sweden, the rate started off at 44%, and slightly increased to about 49% in 2012. Nevertheless, this figure declined moderately in the next 3 years and hit the lowest point of roughly 37% in 2015.
By contrast, the proportion of couple who got divorced experienced the upward trend. The figure began at less than 39% in 2011. There was a slight decrease in the rate from 39% to 34% in 2012. However, the rate started to rise gradually hit a peak of approximately 41% in 2014 and keep remain stable in 2015
