The pie charts compare four primary reasons for teenagers in one African nation using their phones from 2016 to 2019.
Overall, it is evident that using their phone on social networks was the most popular reason over the period shown, while the percentage of teenager phone users to make phone calls was the most minor.
In 2016, half of the number of teenagers used their cellphone on social networks, which doubled the figure for email, accounting for 25%. In 2017, the proportion of youngsters who used their phone on phone calls increased slightly to 13%, while the ratio of the digital camera remained unchanged at the first two years of the period, representing 15%.
Apart from declining to 48% in 2017, the percentage of phone users on social networks increased again to 51%. From 2018 to 2019, using phones on digital cameras became more popular, which made up 18 % of teenagers. In 2019, the lion's share was social networks, accounting for 56%, followed by the digital camera (20%) and email ( 19%). The figure for phone calls was just 5%.
