The charts illustrate the percentage of sodium, saturated fat, and added sugar consumed by a person in the USA during meals, which if consumed in heavy quantities can be unhealthy. The diagram contains three pie-charts separately for three types of nutrients and is divided into four types of meals.
Overall the consumption of sodium was the highest for dinner and lowest was added sugar. It is observed that added sugar was consumed extensively through snacks. A high proportion of saturated fat and added sugar was also consumed through breakfast.
The daily intake of sodium for breakfast amounted to 14 percent, whereas saturated fat and added sugar intake amounted to 16 percent. During lunch a high amount of sodium containing food was consumed by a person in USA, which is around 29 percentage. It is followed by Saturated fat and Added Sugar, which is 26 percentage and 19 percentage respectively. At evening, people seemed to have a great amount of sugar in their food hence it amounts to 42 percentage. Sodium ranks lowest with a percentage of fourteen and Saturated fat second with twenty-one percentage. For dinner, sodium has the highest consumption around 43 percentage and Added Sugar and Saturated fat with 37 and 23 percentage respectively.
It is observed that snacks has high consumption of added sugar during snacks can be unhealthy and can be reduced significantly. The diet can be balanced with appropriate proportions of each nutrient in all meals.
