The diagram below shows how electricity is generated in a hydroelectric power station.
The diagram illustrates the current produced in a hydroelectric power station. Diagram discriminate the works done during day and night time.
Overall, production of electricity mainly comprise of two reservoirs, power station and power lines.
Initially,the oicturevshoes a big dam which is collected water from river and make it as a high level reservoir. At one end of the dam there is a pipe connection to the power station, in which water flows down to the station during day time to produce electricity. When the water entered the station a reversible turbine are working inside to operate generator. Due to the which, the resulting electricity supplied through the power lines to the national grid. Moreover, extra water from turbines flows to the low level reservoir at the end in day time.
Continuing this process during night time too, such as remaining water from the power station pumped back into high level reservoir through the same pipe line. Therefore reservoir can consume water for day time works.
