The diagram shows how solar panels can be used to provide electricity for domestic use
The diagram illustrates how electricity is generated using in households from solar panels.
Overall, there are 5 main stages in the production of electricity, starting with absorbed sunlight by solar panels, and ending with providing electricity from the utility grid when exceeding too many amounts of electricity from the solar panels.
At the first stage of the process, light from the sun is absorbed by solar panels on the roof and converted into DC current. The DC current is then changed into AC current in Inverter and the Inverter will control and produce electricity from here. At stage three, electricity is distributed to the home from an electrical panel.
In the fourth step shown on the diagram, the extra electricity is saved in a utility meter which is taken to the grid from the meter. In the final stage, the extra electricity will be provided to households from the utility grid when the solar panels do not supply enough energy from the solar panels.
