The bar chart shows the percentage of small, medium, and large companies which used social media for business purposes between 2012 to 2016.
The chart depicts how businesses that utilized social media for their work changed proportionally throughout the given years. They are grouped according to their sizes, all seeing a drastic decline in proportion before having a sharp rise in 2016.
It can be inferred from the chart that small businesses grew steadily, accounting for approximately 24 percent of all companies from the beginning of the period to 35 percent in 2014. They then witnessed a reduction of about 5 percent in the next year and impressively increased to 50 percent in the last year of the period. The collected figure for the portion of medium businesses, after rocketing from 32 percent to nearly 50 percent in 2013 and slightly fluctuating in the next year, also dropped to a significant low of 30 percent in 2014. Similar to that of the small businesses, it climbed back up in the final year, reaching nearly 55 percent.
Large companies, on the other hand, experienced slight fluctuations and remained within 76 to 79 percent throughout the given period, except for that massive drop in 2015, to more than 50 percent. This low, however, is higher than the peaks of small and medium companies’ figures.
