Which Provides a Better Life, a House or an Apartment
In recent years, there has been a growing trend toward living in an apartment. The convenience of apartments versus homes, however, relies on a variety of elements, including finances, location, surroundings, use requirements, and even feng shui. In this essay, I will discuss the pros and cons of living in a house and an apartment
Firstly, the issue that most people are curious about is the cost of living in a house and an apartment. Compared to living in an apartment, owning a home would cost more. According to the Federal Reserve Board's Flow of Funds account (2006), residential property accounts for more than 30% of total household assets, and home equity accounts for more than 20% of total household net worth. Instead of a hotel flat with four rooms, consider a three-story house with three rooms on each floor. Therefore, you will need a larger water and electrical system. More money is required to purchase furnishings to fill the area.
Second, whether it is a home or an apartment, it plays an important role in space and privacy. In most circumstances, living in a house provides a larger room than living in an apartment. Homes frequently include extra rooms for hobbies, private yards, gardens, or a secure playground for their kids. A family with three or more children, for instance, may simply move into a three-bedroom home with their belongings and the kids will have plenty of areas to play. Furthermore, people will have greater freedom while staying in their houses. The home's owners are free to organize and decorate the space as they choose, including painting the walls any color and growing flowers and trees. Nevertheless, living in an apartment has its disadvantages in lack of space and privacy. Joe Rogan (2022) said, “Apartment living is tough action. Just the whole idea that you share a washer and dryer always freaked me out”. The main reason for this is that there won't be enough space for privacy and enjoyment if families have large properties. Also, facilities in an apartment like kitchens, bathrooms, and bedrooms must be shared by the entire family.
Finally, living in an apartment or a home may have its benefits and drawbacks when it comes to security. The owner of a house must defend both their properties and their lives. Furthermore, because crooks are always lurking, their homes are particularly simple to break into; even if an anti-theft system is built, no one else will come to assist and rescue them instantly. However, if individuals live in apartments, it is extremely difficult for criminals to break into the house since the entire building is generally equipped with a camera system, an alarm system, and a tight monitoring security crew. As a result, whatever occurs, there are always support and assistance from the security guard in an emergency.
In conclusion, the distinction between living in a home and an apartment is based on three factors: space, privacy, and security. There are positive and negative aspects to any environment. The crucial thing to remember is that the choice is also influenced by the user's everyday demands.
