Advertising is becoming more and more common in everyday life.
Is this a positive or negative development?
In temporary times, a multitude of brands have chosen advertising as their preferred method to engage with customers and promote their products. This essay critically examines this approach and argues that the positive outcomes of such a trend outweigh the potential drawbacks.
First and foremost, advertising offers numerous merits, one of which is its ability to easily attract the attention of consumers, thereby enhancing brand recognition. Almost everyone has their own smart devices and uses social media so they seems to have many opportunities to approach advertising. Take Coca-cola for example, the company promotes its products on various renowned social networking platforms through formats such as short videos or posters. As a result, Coca-Cola has gained increased global recognition and a wider consumer base.
Furthermore, this trend also contributes to revenue growth for brands. While there is an initial cost associated with advertising, the subsequent boost in sales can lead to overall increased revenue. Take the case of M.A.C, an exceptional cosmetics brand, which showcases stunning visuals not only of their lipsticks but also their latest products like eye palettes. This strategic approach prompts potential buyers to make purchasing decisions, propelling the brand towards revenue peaks upon each new product launch.
In conclusion, while potential disadvantages of advertising, such as consumer annoyance, may exist, the evidence overwhelmingly suggests that the benefits far outweigh any drawbacks. It is therefore advisable for governments to establish policies that prevent the abuse of advertising for fraudulent purposes and ensure a conducive advertising environment. This approach will strike a balance between brand promotion and consumer protection.
