The diagram below shows how a simple water filter is constructed and how it functions to produce clean drinking water.
The given picture illustrates how to make a straightforward water filter and the process by which purified drinking water is produced for the use of the citizens.
Overall, the process employs uncomplicated equipment as well as the natural properties of three different materials to remove contaminants from water.
Regarding the diagram, the key components necessary for this method are a considerable container and three natural elements named sand, charcoal, and gravel. Those components have their own functions in order to get refining water and are arranged in layers, with the deepest one being gravel and on top of which is clean sand, and then another layer of crushed charcoal.
During the filtering process, raw water is poured into the container first after undergoing various layers. Passing the layer of clean sand, small particles are trapped, followed by pollutants being absorbed by the charcoal and tiny debris being trapped by the gravel, respectively. After that, the water is filtered and ready for drinking. Subsequently, a pipe that is affixed to the container is used to transfer water to another separate container, where it remains available for people to use for living and irrigation wherever they require it.
