The diagram illustrates the rate how many British citizens donate to charity by age groups between 1990 and 2010.
Overall, there was a general decrease in the percentage of people who gave money in the age before 50 from 1990 to 2010. Nevertheless, It was a slight increase in the age after 50.
The highest decline was in the age range 18-25, which went down significantly from around 18% in 1990 to under 7% in 2010. The next category is 26-35, it also was a remarkable decrease from over 30% in 1990 to under 25% in 2010. In 1990, the age group 36-50 had a majority of people gave money to charity, which was nearly 43%, while the rate in 2010 was 35%.
The exception of this general downtrend was in two age groups 51-65 and over 65s. In 2010, the age group 51-65 gave the highest percentage with approximately 40% and 35% in 1990. Finally, the age over 65s rose minimally by about 3% from 32% in 1990 to 35% in 2010.
