To begin with, the reading asserts that the fund will help agricultural areas. It will prevents some industries to damage and intterupt that area. However, the lecture says that in spite of saving the environment, cultivating field will damage it. Nowadays, the population is increasing rapidly so it will need more area to plant foods which more forest will be change to become agricultural field. Moreover, farmer will use pesticide that can pollute the water.
Next, the fund will go directly to government, instead of villagers and tribal residents. This will not guarantee that the fund will be used effectively like mentioned in the reading. The fund itself will be allocated for health services and education for the residents.
Last, the professor refutes the idea that the fund will help maintain the biodiversity. He doubts the fund will be used for planting economical products. This will decrease the forest biodiversity because the products often a single species.
