The given table illustrates the ratio of the population of one town who rode bikes in 2011 divided into age and gender groups.
Overall, the proportion of women who cycled was greater at all ages. Besides, the youngest people rode more than others in age groups.
It is obviously seen in the table that the highest percentage of riders in both genders belonged to people at the age of 0-9 with 51.3% in female and 50.3% in male. In contrast, the people in the range of 40-59 years old witnessed the smallest figures when just about 12.3% women 8.0% men rode bikes.
While in other age groups, the rate of male rider was just slightly smaller than those of female, there was a significant difference in the proportion of cyclists at the age of 10-17. To be more specific, the rate of female who rode bicycles was 42.2%, double more than those of male with 24.6%. Surprisingly, after 60%, these figures in both genders were 18.5% and 12.5% respectively, higher than people belonged to 18-39 and 40-59 age groups.
