You have borrowed something from your friend, but it was damaged. Write a letter to your friend and say
- Apologize for damaging the product
- How was it damaged?
- What will you do about it?
Dear Matt,
How have you been? It has been a long time since we last met. I am writing this epistle to inform you that the laptop which I borrowed from you last year has been damaged. Allow me to explain in detail.
As you know that I am careless in handling things hence it was only because of my careless attitude such damage has occurred to the laptop. Firstly I would like to apologize for damaging your machine. The damage happened while I was commuting from my office to a client place in a bus and accidentally the laptop fell from hands. Although the damage to the machine has not been extensive however according to the Apple customer support team the screen needs to be replaced.
Hence I will send the MacBook to Apple care team who will change the screen in seven working days additionally they will run some diagnostics tests to confirm that the machine is performing satisfactorily.
I will inform you when I receive the repaired laptop.
Best wishes
