The table illustrates a typical household in one UK city’s income and the pie charts demonstrate how the family distributed their earning money on food and clothes in 2010 and 2013. Overall, the income of the family witnessed a remarkable decrease, while the amount of food and clothes cost slightly rose. With regards to spending on necessity, the need for healthy products increased while the amount of money spent on drinks and clothes fell.
In terms of total income, the household earned 29000 euros in 2010, 2000 euros greater than in 2013. However, the spending tendency had changed when they distributed more money on food and clothes expenditure, 14000 euros and 15000 euros in 2010 and 2013 respectively.
Looking at details, it is clear that the amount of money spent on fruits and vegetables had the most significant growth from 20% to 35% which is one-third of the necessity expense. Similarly, the proportion of dairy products also underwent the gently increasing trend with 5% greater compared to 2010.
To be contrast, the percentage of expense of protein such meat and fish dramatically declined 10% to 15% only. Likewise, the figure for spending on clothes had the same decrease proportion and then be 12% in 2013. Only the drinks and other food expenditure remained stable through three years.
