You have a bank account for few years. Recently you received a letter from the bank stating that your account is $240 overdrawn and that you will be charged which will be taken from your account.
You know this information is incorrect.
Write a letter to the bank.
Explain what as happened and say what you would like them to do about it.
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to you in connection with my savings account ending in 9009 with your bank. I have been a loyal customer of this bank since 2010. I hold an exclusive gold account and I also have taken a home loan with RBC.
I want to bring to your notice that I have received a letter informing me about an overdraft of $240 in my account, which came as a big shock to me because there has been no money withdrawals in this account the entire month.
Since, I have been at home all of July due to the state-wide lock down, I have not used this account for any purchases. There was a balance of $500 in my account at the start of the month and given that the account was inactive, it is not possible to have an overdraw here.
It baffles me how can your people can make this mistake and charge me for this inconsistency. I would like you to please check with your operations team and resolve this issue at the earliest. Additionally, I would like to know the root cause of this issue to make sure such errors are prevented in the future.
Look forward to a favourable reply soon.
Your Sincerely
Karishma Dave
