You have had a bank account for a few years. Recently you received a letter
from the bank stating that your account is $240 overdrawn and that you will be
charged $70 which will be taken directly from your account. You know that this
information is incorrect.
Write a letter to the bank. Explain what has happened and say what you would
like them to do about it.
You should write at least 150 words.
You do NOT need to write your own address. Begin your letter as follows:
Dear Sir,
Dear Sir,
I am writing this letter in response to the letter I received from your bank a few days ago. The letter states that an amount of
$240 is overdrawn for my account and which is why there is an additional penalty of $70 charged. However, I believe that there is
some misunderstanding on your end in this matter.
To elaborate, I have been an account holder of your bank for the last 20 years under the category of classic customers.
If you check my past transactions, there have been transactions consistently of around $200 which is withdrawn on the 25th of every month since January 2020. This is the only transaction from this account and the rest of the transactions are done from my second account. Hence I was surprised when I received a letter from your bank that an amount is overdrawn on the 12th of this month.
There is definitely some mistake in the calculation done by your account head. I request you to kindly look into this matter at the earliest. Hoping for your cooperation as usual and expecting a positive reply.
Yours faithfully,
Dimple Patel
