The diagram illustrates a salmon life cycle in 8 stages from laying eggs to growing as an adult fish.
Overall, it shows the birth of a salmon in the river followed by its' rearing process has been done consequently in the river, estuary, and ocean, and then after reaches to maturation stage again moved to rivers as spawning areas.
In stage1, In rivers, salmon will come and spawn there to lay give birth to new ones. Subsequently, in the next stage, the laid eggs will undergo into incubation period before child fishes come out from them in the third stage. In stage 4, Baby fishes start rearing in the freshwater of the river and then enters into the estuary rearing where river and ocean water will get in contact as a part of stage 5.
Next, In stage 6, newly born and growing fishes migrate from estuary rearing to other rearing areas in the ocean. Here in stage 7, Comapritive to rivers, they will get enough space to grow to full of their potential and stays there until they reach their mature age. Whenever they came to maturation period, start to immigrate to spawning areas which are nothing but rivers without staying at estuaries which is shown in stage 8.
