The table illustrates how young males and females in Tokyo listened to music over the last month, while the pie chart shows the percentage of international preferences for live, recorded music and of whom like neither of them.
Overall, the proportion of males listening to music from all sources, except CDs, is outweighed females. It is also obvious that the overwhelming majority of people prefer live music to recorded music.
As can be seen from the table, males made up a massive 79 percent of those listening to MP3 players compared to 40 percent in females. The tendency was also similar in live music with 60 percent of boys and followed by Internet with 55 percent, as the percentage of girls was just 44 and 42 percent. However, CDs showed a contrasting trend with a higher proportion of females, 22 percent, while those of males were just a tiny 19 percent.
In the pie chart, it is clear that a major portion of people loved to listen to live music as they represented 70 percent worldwide. Besides, recorded music rate was 26 percent, and people who didn’t know their group was only constituted about 4 percent.
