This graph illustrates the ratio of four different materials that were recycled from 1982 to 2010 in a nation.
The rate of recycling of glass containers and aluminum cans showed a significant rise in the table. While the the recycling rate of paper cardboard decreased. And plastics’ recycling rate experienced only a slight increase in the period.
In the year 1982, glass containers and paper recycling rates were at 50% and 65% respectively. Later, in the period of 1990-1994, both experienced a growth of 10% and 15%. .The recycling rate of aluminum cans began showing an upward trend in the year 1986 till it reached 45% in the year 2010. The recycling rate of plastic increased slightly starting from the year 1990 until it reached 10% by the end of the timeframe.. In the meantime, the highest recycling rate was that of paper and cardboard at 70% followed by glass containers at 60%.
