The maps show the changes o Shalton village from 1910 to 2010

It is clear that a great number of houses was built on the right-hand side of Shalton village, while there were many services opened along one side of School Road.
In 1910, only a post office was set up in one side of London Road. Moreover, the central area contained a large house surrounded by some trees while there were a cafe, a house, and a bakery are constructed. After 100 years, 4 houses were erected next to the post office, whereas the big house and tree were flatten to build 5 new houses and a road. In addition, the bakery was replaced with a house to broaden accomodation for residents.
Throughout 100 years, along one side of School Road, the butchers and house were demolished to make room for supermarket, parking, and bank. However, there was a slight difference when only 2 houses were constructed which were opposite to the café on the High Street.
