The given chart gives information regarding the proportion of the households in rented and owned accommodation in England and Wales from 1981 to 2011.
We can see that the percentage of household living in owned accommodation rose steadily from just over 20% in 1918 to a peak of roughly 70% by 2001. The output then fell gradually, declining to around 62% mark in 2011. However, looking at the household in rented accommodation per cent, we see that this year’s pattern is a largely reversed: the highest number of rented housing (about 80%) was utilized in 1918, followed by a marked decline to just over 30% in 1991 and 2001. The number of household in rent accommodation then rose slightly, rising to approximately 37% in 2011. in 1971, households in rented accommodation were equal in used with owned accommodation of 50 %.
To sum up, the number of household living in owned accommodation increased in both England and Walse, while the number of hosehold in rent accommodation decresed at the end of 2011.
