In 1981, 2-person household started with 31%, which increased by a margin of 31 to 34 in 2001. A similar picture is apparent in 1-person homes, with its figure accounting for 17% in 1981 before rising to 26% in 2001.
Over the period of 20 years, the number ofhouseholds with 3 or 4 occupants recorded a fall of 3%, from 20% and 18% to 17% and 15%. Remaining in the last place were 5-person and 6-person households, with the figure for the former was 8% and the latter was 6%, both decreased to 6% and 2% respectively.
